A Tour of My Actual Haunted House

First, you walk into my library. Nothing’s really happened here. Well, I HAVE had books fly off the bookshelf before. But it only happened twice, so it’s not the most haunted room in the house.

Here’s the kitchen. One time I thought I saw my husband making a sandwich and when I got closer I could see through him, so I just apologized and walked away. That happens a lot, actually. Like another time, my husband saw me walking to the bathroom, but then no one was in there. So that can happen here sometimes, you might want to double-check who you’re talking to.

Sorry, yeah, these lights flicker a lot. The lights flicker in pretty much every single room in the house. We had an electrician come out. He removed the panels and determined that there was no explanation for why the lights keep flickering. So, that’s just something to be aware of. But don’t worry, they usually only flicker if I’m in the room. Sorry about that.

Okay, this back living room has had a lot of figures in it. I guess the most notable one is when both my friend and I watched a shadow figure walk through the wall. Oh, but don’t be too scared about that! I swear, it’s mostly good energy in here! That was like a weird one-off thing. Or three-off thing. Don’t worry about it. Let’s go downstairs.

Oh, okay, so, I don’t know why, but these stairs are really weird. If you ever hear a kid crying coming from the stairs, it’s actually not my kids. They’re at school. But the sounds aren’t all bad! Like one time I heard a man whistling. Usually, you just hear disembodied steps is all.

Inside here is my children’s playroom. For the most part, it’s good. My daughter’s toys sometimes go off by themselves, though. This remote-controlled car drives by itself sometimes. Even if the remote is across the room with no one touching it. It drives the most when I’m home alone, but it’s not bad or anything. Sometimes, if you ask it questions, it will respond to your questions by moving. So it’s kind of interactive, which is fun!

My husband was sleeping down here and the kid’s walkie-talkies turned on in the middle of the night. Dan says lots of electronics turn on by themselves down here. The computer monitor, the TV, phones. My husband doesn’t believe in ghosts, by the way.

We had guests staying here in this main room, and they said the furniture moved by itself. I’ve never seen that, but I definitely believe them, because when they were telling me that story, all the toys on this corner shelf knocked themselves off onto the floor. So seems legit enough.

Yeah, our guest bedroom is pretty safe for the most part. You guys can totally sleep here! I swear they’re good ghosts! My husband does sometimes hear tapping on the ceiling in here, and my son one time cried because he said he saw “a man with a freakishly long neck in the back room”. But we just keep the door closed, and it’s usually fine. My brother-in-law stays with us, and he only had a disembodied hiss in his ear one time. So, for the most part, it’s fine! You’re totally welcome to stay here anytime!
